How Prodigy Wildfire users opt in to receive critical wildfire safety text messages
This page documents the SMS consent and opt-in process within the Prodigy Wildfire mobile application.
Consent Language Shown to Users
The following consent disclosure is displayed directly adjacent to the Save Number button in the Prodigy Wildfire mobile application, before the user confirms their SMS opt-in:
"By enabling, you consent to receive critical wildfire alert messages from Prodigy Wildfire. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel anytime. Terms & Privacy."
1.What Are Prodigy Wildfire SMS Alerts?
Prodigy Wildfire sends critical safety alert text messages to users who have explicitly opted in through our mobile application. These alerts are strictly transactional safety notifications — never marketing or promotional.
Alert types include:
Message frequency varies based on fire activity near the user's registered property. During high fire danger periods, users may receive multiple alerts per day. During low activity, users may receive no messages for weeks.
Standard message and data rates may apply.
2.How Users Opt In (Step-by-Step)
Users provide express written consent to receive SMS alerts exclusively through the Prodigy Wildfire mobile application at https://prodigywildfire.app. The opt-in process requires multiple affirmative steps:
Primary Opt-In Method: In-App Toggle
User creates an account on the Prodigy Wildfire app and completes identity verification.
User navigates to Account → Notification Preferences → SMS Text Alerts.
User toggles the SMS switch to the ON position.
User selects their country code and manually enters their mobile phone number.
User taps the "Save Number" button to confirm.

Directly adjacent to the Save Number button, the following consent disclosure is displayed before the user saves:
"By enabling, you consent to receive critical wildfire alert messages from Prodigy Wildfire. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel anytime. Terms & Privacy."
Secondary Opt-In Method: Keyword
Users may also opt in by texting the keyword START to our campaign phone number to subscribe to SMS alerts.

3.How Users Opt Out
Users can revoke consent at any time through any of these methods:
- Reply STOP to any message received from Prodigy Wildfire
- Toggle SMS switch to OFF within Account → Notification Preferences in the app
- Contact support at admin@prodigywildfire.com or call 778-968-1200
Upon opting out, users will receive confirmation:
"You have successfully been unsubscribed. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe."
4.Sample Messages
Here are examples of the types of messages users may receive. All messages include the sender identification "Prodigy Wildfire Alerts" and opt-out instructions "Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for info".
